Frequently asked questions

What fees does Etsy charge sellers in 2026?

A US seller pays a $0.20 listing fee, a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping and gift wrap, and a payment processing fee of 3% + $0.25 per order. On a $100 sale with free shipping that is $9.95 — about 10% before your own costs. Offsite ads, currency conversion and optional services add more.

Does the 6.5% transaction fee apply to shipping?

Yes. Etsy applies the transaction fee to the item price plus whatever you charge the buyer for shipping and gift wrap. A $25 item with $5 shipping is fee-calculated on $30, not $25.

What is the difference between the transaction fee and the payment processing fee?

The transaction fee (6.5%) is Etsy’s commission on every sale. The payment processing fee covers Etsy Payments processing and varies by your bank account location — 3% + $0.25 in the US, 4% + £0.20 in the UK, 4% + €0.30 in most of the EU. You pay both on every sale.

What are offsite ads fees on Etsy?

When a buyer arrives from an Etsy offsite ad (Google, Instagram, Facebook), Etsy charges 12% or 15% of the attributed order total, capped at $100 per order. Shops under $10,000 in annual sales are opt-in; above that, offsite ads are required.

What other Etsy fees should sellers budget for?

Listing renewals at $0.20, a 2.5% currency conversion fee when your listing currency differs from your payout currency, optional Etsy Ads budgets, and a one-time setup fee for new shops in some regions. Some countries also add a regulatory operating fee of up to 1.97%.

Which countries does this support?

Around 40 bank-account locations: US (3% + $0.25), UK (4% + £0.20), most of the EU (4% + €0.30), Canada, Australia and more. Pick your bank account location and the payment processing line, currency and formatting follow it. Source: etsy.com/legal/fees, effective Feb 13, 2026.
